By 10 am on day 1 , I had only spoken to beef farmers! Several breed societies had stands and shows (beef and sheep). Fairly ironic considering the decision to revert to a dairy event next year! Maybe for one year until the dust settles on the scrap between Holstein UK and RABDF. They need to get their act together and not forget who is paying for the events (i.e. stand holders and sponsors).
All in all the present formula worked yet again. Their may have been less farmers, but that is not surprising considering that "every pound is a prisoner at the moment"!
As a stand holder, we were happy, but wont be spending time and money on that scale for any one day event next year.
Sheep farmers were there, but scarce. Fortunately they have excellent, well run and squabble free events to pay to get into in their thousands. Well done NSA!
